Architecture:

Hawaiian real estate is very unique due to the limited inventory and the perfect weather almost year round. Oahu is also the gathering place where you have the modern convenance to conduct business and maintain an island lifestyle. The Architecture reflects this diversified culture and the influences that have made Hawaii a unique environment like no other.

Arts & History:

The Bishop Museum is a must. The museum gives great insight to the native culture that still thrives to this day. You can learn the true spirit of Aloha and  see artifacts well preserved from the all powerful King Kamehameha and more.

Resting in Pearl Harbor are the USS Arizona and the USS Missouri and our “bookends” (beginning and the end) of WWII. If you love history it is a must see. On the USS Missouri you can take guided tours aboard ship and relieve the signing on the peace treaty with Japan.

The Honolulu Theater renovated in classic style is located downtown is always a great way to experience performing arts and musicals.

Oahu is so unique compared to other cities. Yes, we have our share of traffic and small city issues, but being an island only 112 miles around it has incredible natural resources. Oahu has over 60 miles of beaches and some of the most incredible hiking on the planet. Not to mention the North Shore, where I have seen the surf rise to 50 feet plus during the winter.

During big surf season, November to about mid April the opportunity for watching of Humpback whales just of the coast comes into full swing. Watching a whale breach with an amazing sunset in the back drop is something you never forget.

Business:

The business climate on Oahu is amazingly diversified. Ever Since Agriculture has taken a back seat. The top industries are now: Military, Tourism, Medical and Technological. Honolulu is one of the only cities to have so many branches of the military in one place. The list includes but is not limited to the Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, CIA, NSA,…….. The tourism industry has been in full swing with our visitor counts at record levels. Waikiki has been getting quite the face lift it recently which it needed for some time. Waikiki is now a place where even local folks hang out at Duke’s restaurant and surf the shores of Waikiki. The medical and tech field have exploded here recently with a new cancer research center being built and the passing of act 221 that allows private investment in alternative energy companies to maximize the possibilities for investors.

Dining:

It is all about the food! Some of my favorite spots in town are Sarabol, Korean open 24/7 and of course for fine dinning Allen Wong’s.

For casual dinning I encourage folks to make the trek to the North shore to Haleiwa Joes a blend of local and pacific fusion that is relaxing and enjoyable.

When you are on the go and you have to have a local dish, McDonald’s is your stop. Simply order samine at the next drive through.

Growth:

On Oahu the diversified economy and its population is what makes such an incredible business climate. Hawaii is the hub for communications between the mainland US and Australia, China, Philippines, Guam, Okinawa, Korea, Thailand etc.

History:

Hawaii has a long history with many populations and cultures. This is the true melting pot of the pacific in so many ways. Since, the great tribes that ruled this land to the merchants, traders, farmers and whalers that came later. This land has a rich history that takes years to comprehend and understand.

Landmarks:

Diamond Head is the most photograghed volcanic crater on the island and maybe the world. It is a wonderful hike to the top with spectacular views. Make sure to bring some water as the stairs can be challenging for some. The beaches and the stark mountain ranges make’s Oahu such a beautiful place to just pull over and go on vacation. Something I do on a daily basis. Whether you are new to the island or returning guest the idea of a city on the beach makes Waikiki a perfect place to enjoy so many things the tropics have to offer and still have plumbing! I have traveled a lot and you can never underestimate the power of having good plumbing faculties!

Nature:

Oahu may have a City on its shore but the ocean is one giant play ground for all to enjoy. Whether you like to swim, surf, sail, canoe or kayak there is something for almost everyone. Also, there are no snakes to worry about as you explore the interior of Oahu’s lust jungles and mountain trails. What type of wildlife thrives in your area?

Nightlife:

If you are in the mood food and dancing into the morning light, then Waikiki is the place. You can start of at the open beach bars like Duke’s and dance your heart away to some clubs, like The the "W" or "Pearl".

Recreation/Sports:Honolulu offers so much in the arena of recreation it is hard to describe it all. If you love the outdoors Oahu has some for all walks of life. From sun tanning to extreme Irion man competitions. For the sport fans the LA Lakers practice here in fall, University of Hawaii has football, baseball, volleyball and more. And of course the NFL’s Pro Bowl event held at the Aloha Stadium.

Shopping:

If power shopping is your exercise Ala Moana and Waikiki await you. Oahu has the entire list of major store brands as well as very unique shops not found anywhere else.

Tourist Attractions:Just a small list of places and things to do while on Oahu. Polynesian Cultural Center, Bishop Museum ,Waikiki Zoo, Sea Life Park, Waikiki Aquarium, Matsumoto Shaved Ice, Kailua Beach, Navitech Whale watching Tours,  Maritime Museum at Aloha Tower and Glider Rides at Dillingham airfield.
